Anyone for (Racist) Tennis?

Not content with taking over the iconic Melbourne Cup, AFL premier Collingwood and Cricket Australia, Emirates is now casting its sights on another icon – the Australian Open.

A BIDDING war for sponsorship of the Australian Open is breaking out, with Emirates Airlines moving to secure the naming rights to the tennis tournament.

Boutros Boutros, senior vice-president of communications for Dubai-based Emirates, confirmed the interest. ''This is a wonderful event, a grand slam, and we have been sponsors of the Dubai Tennis Championships and the Rogers Cup, so yes, we are very much interested.''

Tennis Australia commercial director Steve Ayles said he was happy to speak with Emirates, but a deal would be difficult. ''Kia is locked in until 2013, as is V Australia. Of course, with a global company such as Emirates we are always happy to talk, but it would be difficult to fit them into our portfolio of sponsors until an opening came up.''
Mr Boutros said Emirates had no interest in second-tier sponsorship. ''From our past experience second-tier sponsorship does not work for us,'' he said. ''We have tried. We understand that Kia has an existing deal with Tennis Australia, but we feel that the Australian Open is a perfect fit for us. But we would want the naming rights.''
.''Think of the Australian Open as one more flower in our sponsorship bouquet,'' said Barry Brown, the airline's new
vice-president for Australasia. (source)

Shame on Steve Ayles! He should make it clear why a deal would be difficult - because Arab money must not be allowed to corrupt Tennis Australia. But it seems money trumps principle and sportsmanship. If Emirates gets its way, racism and anti-Semitism will come to our much-loved tennis.

If you doubt this would happen, just look at Sweden 2009:

Jew haters are on a rampage in Malmö and Swedish politicians help anti-Israel protesters by keeping the tennis match behind closed doors.
Police estimate that up to 6,000 demonstrators have joined a march in Malmö to protest against the ongoing Davis Cup match between Sweden and Israel in the city. There are reported to be some 200 masked demonstrators at the back of the march and police confirm that the otherwise peaceful march was disrupted by incidents involving paint bombs, fireworks and Bengal lights.
Several of the masked, black-clad hooligans rushed the barriers holding demonstrators away from the arena where the match is taking place.
Malmo is bracing for an influx of demonstrators against Israel, which also plays right into the hands of those who wish to embarrass Israel. What could be better, in terms of advancing the agenda, than having streets full of demonstrators and a visiting nation that can't be allowed to show its flag? This is a crude and astonishing example of using the Davis Cup as a political football.
MALMO, Sweden (AP) - Dozens of anti-Israel activists clashed with police Saturday as they tried to storm a closed arena where Sweden and Israel were playing a Davis Cup tennis match.
The activists hurled rocks and firecrackers at police vans as they tried to break through the barricades set up to keep protesters from the arena. Hundreds of riot police pushed them back using truncheons.
The clashes erupted after about 7,000 people gathered at a square in downtown Malmo to hear speeches condemning Israel's offensive in Gaza and urging support for Palestinians.
Organizers of the "stop the match" protest had said the demonstration would be peaceful, but extreme-left activists had vowed to disrupt the match, which is being played without fans in Malmo.
Sweden's Left Party leader Lars Ohly told the crowd that the European Union and the rest of the world should "boycott the racist regime in Israel."
The doubles match between Sweden and Israel started as planned before about 300 special guests invited by the two countries' tennis federations.

The Swedish authorities should hang their heads in shame that they capitulated to racist, anti-Semitic demands.

Islam is political, and has no qualms in using sport for its political ends, just as Hitler used the Olympics for political purposes:

For two weeks in August 1936, Adolf Hitler's Nazi dictatorship camouflaged its racist, militaristic character while hosting the Summer Olympics. Soft-pedaling its antisemitic agenda and plans for territorial expansion, the regime exploited the Games to bedazzle many foreign spectators and journalists with an image of a peaceful, tolerant Germany.
Having rejected a proposed boycott of the 1936 Olympics, the United States and other western democracies missed the opportunity to take a stand that — some observers at the time claimed — might have given Hitler pause and bolstered international resistance to Nazi tyranny. With the conclusion of the Games, Germany's expansionist policies and the persecution of Jews and other “enemies of the state” accelerated, culminating in World War II and the Holocaust.

Anyone getting a sense of déjà vu? Just look at Emirates Melbourne Cup and the hordes of wannabes yearning to get an invite to the opulent Emirates tent in the Birdcage! Decent people should have boycotted this glitzy camouflage for what it was – an attempt to bedazzle with an image of a peaceful tolerant Islam.

But of course it’s not just Arab Muslim who are the problem. There is only one Islam, spewing the same koranic hatred. Remember how Iran banned a weightlifter for life for standing next to an Israel at an awards ceremony:

The thing about this is that the now-banned Iranian weightlifter was completely ungracious about it., refusing to shake the Israeli champion's hand, and keeps his head down sullenly during the playing of the Israeli National Anthem. But that wasn't nasty and antisemitic enough for his Islamic supremacist masters in Tehran. "Lifetime depravation [sic] for an athlete and the head of veteran's weightlifting team,"
Mir Rasool Raisi, Head of Delegation to Iran's Weightlifting Team, and Hossein Khodadadi, a veteran weightlifting champion, have been banned from all sport activities for life. Khodadadi appeared on the platform beside an Israeli weight champion during the Poland competitions.
Jalal Yahya-Zadeh, head of Physical Education Committee for Youth Committee announced this news and and added: "The fact that an Iranian weightlifting veteran has competed against an Israeli during the worldwide competitions and has stood beside him during the distribution of medal is unjustifiable."

Disgusting! Politics and racism have no place in sport. Let’s not allow racists to take over.

Supremacist racist Islam has no place in world sports.

No ifs or buts. Let’s keep racism out of sport.

Stop Emirates infiltration. Sharia has no place in sport.

Sharia has no place in Australia.

Let’s keep Australia free!
