FGM Film Horror

E-mail Print PDF
Lars von TrierAt this year’s Cannes film festival, critics were appalled by the horror film “Antichrist”, whose climax showed a woman, engulfed in the madness of grief, cutting off her clitoris.

This was considered beyond the pale, even for hardened critics.

Scandal hit Cannes as Denmark's Lars Von Trier offered a shock thriller on sex and madness in "Antichrist", featuring graphic close-up scenes of love and mutilation.
Critics gasped, jeered and hooted during a preview of the often difficult to watch movie…Featuring powerful performances from Willem Dafoe and France's Charlotte Gainsbourg, the film tells the story of a couple grappling to overcome the death of their baby son.
The film opens with a close-up on the act of sex and veers into a dramatic escalation of violence, including Gainsbourg slicing off her clitoris. (source)
EVEN the sophisticated audience of critics and film fans in Cannes were overcome with horror at the latest provocation from Danish enfant terrible Lars von Trier.

In a climactic scene of marital conflict, Charlotte Gainsbourg drills a hole through Willem Dafoe's leg and sticks a stave through it after smashing in his testicles with a piece of firewood. But it is the moment when she apparently cuts off her clitoris with a pair of scissors that has become the succes de scandale of the great French film festival.

At that moment, the theatre filled with groans and wails of horror. The film was greeted with furious booing, along with solid, if rather dazed, applause.

He wrote the film while suffering from depression, but its story of a weak, manipulative man battling with a complex, tormented woman will be familiar to fans of his other films.

Hhe said he thought it was absolutely essential to show the audience the genital mutilation rather than simply allude to it. "For me not to show it would be a lie." (source)

Now I’m no film critic, but here are some of my thoughts:

  • A woman who cuts off her own clitoris is seriously mentally disturbed.
  • Although mad, at least this woman is mutilating her own body.
  • This is a horror film, intended to shock, and not reality.

Cut to the real world:

  • Many women and young girls in REAL LIFE have their clitoris removed forcibly. They have no choice in the matter. For a horrific REAL LIFE account of how Ayaan Hirsi Ali’s grandmother mutilated her and her sister, read the book “Infidel.”
  • Islamically-mandated fgm is performed worldwide. Although outlawed in Western nations, there is evidence it still goes on, or the girl is sent overseas to be mutilated.
  • I can’t recall one single film critic recoiling in horror at this REAL LIFE abuse of women and girls.

FGM
Indonesia- Inside a Female-Circumcision Ceremony: A girl is soothed by an attendant before her circumcision.

I won’t go into the graphic detail, as Circe has already extensively covered the topic.  See:

FrontPageMagazine’s Jamie Glazov recently interviewed Ines Laufer, founder of the Task Force for Effective Prevention of FGM, a network of activists committed to prevention of genital mutilation among migrant girls in the EU.
Laufer: European governmental and non-governmental development-policy widely undermines and hinders the efforts to eradicate FGM in African/Arab/Asian countries.
Since the early 1980’s, there have been numerous initiatives that are committed to the eradication of FGM. The largest network is the InterAfrican Committé (IAC) founded in 1984.FGM in Egypt
At that time, the majority of development-agencies, as well as the WHO, UNICEF and other UN-agencies, refused to put the problem of FGM on their agenda and to support initiatives like the IAC, because they did not want to “interfere into a cultural custom.”
In the 1990s, organisations like UNICEF realised that FGM is very well suited to be exploited for raising funds. They created projects and called for generous donations within the Western population. It worked. For instance, the German people donated more than half a million D-Mark in 1994 for a FGM-project in Ethiopia – after a TV-broadcast and big article in STERN-magazine witnessed the live-mutilation of an Ethiopian girl-victim.
But so-called “education-campaigns” which are destined to teach the mutilating families and mutilators about the devastating effects of FGM, generally widely failed.
And of course, they had to fail – because FGM is not an “exotic custom” that people perpetrate because they “don’t know better”. FGM is a very specific and very systematic kind of legitimized violence against a certain group of members (female children) in the concerned societies.
The consequences of the sexual mutilation of little girls are very well known and realised in all mutilating ethnic groups – but they are knowingly accepted while the girl’s individual health and well-being are subordinated to the male’s claim for sexual control.

UNICEF – as well as all large development-agencies - refuse to integrate the abandonment of FGM in the project-areas into their support-conditions.
By neglecting to demand the girl’s protection from FGM, UNICEF and Co. must be considered complicit in the mutilation of thousands of little girls in the projects.

Furthermore UNICEF now trivialises FGM as “Female Genital Cutting”, even as “Circumcision” and so paternalistically overrides the call of African activists to maintain the proper terminology “Female Genital Mutilation” and even threatened to refuse funds to African groups who named the practice “FGM.”

Laufer takes aim at hypocritical NGOs and development aid, which does not condition generous donations to FGM in Sudanabolishing FGM:

No conditions, no call for the respect of Human- and children’s rights are linked to such generous support.
This policy again strengthens political leaders and governments who are far away from caring about the violent oppression of their female members in the society. This makes true development impossible. (source)

So why aren’t the people who  “gasped, jeered and hooted” and were “overcome with horror”
by fictional FGM similarly sickened by the REAL FGM?

Do the cultural elite possess a refined sensitivity which enables them to ignore brutality and sadism under the guise of not  “interfering into a cultural custom”? Or are they so busy rushing to see the latest arthouse films that reality has passed them by?

Sadly, these deluded people who pretend that everything is nice, and that if Islamic violence does occur, it is just because the common folk are stirring trouble, are in for a rude awakening.  As Islam stealthily makes inroads, it will be their young daughters and granddaughters who will be mutilated.

And then maybe they will realise the difference between trendy horror films by “enfant terrible” directors and the horror of Islam.

Though come to think of it, there’s not much difference - except we can choose not to see the film, whilst there will be no escaping from Islam.

Say NO to sharia.

History - Violent Jihad

Australians celebrate and revere Anzac Day on April 25th each year in remembrance of our brave soldiers who fought in two great world wars to secure our freedom. Every Australian identifies with the slogan “lest we forget” and in services held around the country people reflect on the battles and men who died to secure our freedom. Yet across the world in France, there is one remarkable battle which helped form the Europe we know today and allowed the development of civilization based on Judeo Christian principles. This one famous battle has become known as the battle of Tours and effectively stopped the Muslim advance into Europe. After the death of Mohammed in 632AD, Muslim armies exploded out of the Arabian peninsula to conquer much of the Middle East, expanding across north Africa. From there they crossed into Spain in 711AD and eventually controlled much of al-Andalus by 715AD. It was the victory at Tours by Charles Martel that stemmed the tide and eventually the Muslim marauders were expelled from Spain in 1492 when the last outpost at Granada fell to King Ferdinand of Spain.

Perhaps some readers might be interested to know that January 28 is considered a feast day among Catholics – actually 2 feast days are celebrated on the same day – one is of ST Thomas Aquinas, the great medieval theologian and philosopher who adapted Aristotle to the western Judeo-Christian worldview. . It is also the feast day of a lesser known person – St Peter Nolasco, the great ransomer of captives from the Muslims.

Barbary Corsair
Somalian Islamic Pirates & Lessons from History

The dramatic rescue of the American cargo-ship captain Richard Phillips from the hands of Somalian Islamic pirates by the U.S. Navy—killing three pirates, holding him hostage at gun-point, through precision-targeting—warrants a review of the U.S. struggle with piracy and hostage-taking in North Africa, which ended two centuries ago.

Raiding trade-caravans and hostage-taking for extracting ransom in Islam was started by Prophet Muhammad. Having become powerful and secure after his relocation to Medina from Mecca in 622, Muhammad initiated Jihad or holy war in the form of raids of trade-caravans for earning livelihood for his community. In the first successful raid of a Meccan caravan at Nakhla in December 623, his brigands killed one of the attendants, took two of them captive, and acquired the caravan as “sacred” booty. The captives were ransomed to generate further revenue. Muhammad, later on, expanded this mode of Jihad to raiding non-Muslim communities around Arabia—for capturing their homes, properties and livestock, capturing their women and children as slaves often for ransoming and selling, and imposing extortional taxes—which sometimes involved mass-slaughter of the attacked victims.

Battle of Broken Hill Logo

The First Islamic Terrorist Attack on Australian Soil

On January 1, 1915 two Broken Hill men, both former camel drivers, armed themselves with rifles, an homemade flag bearing Islamic insignia and a large supply of ammunition and launched a surprise attack on the Picnic Train about 3 kilometres outside Broken Hill.

The train carried about 1200 Broken Hill residents to Silverton where a picnic to celebrate the new year was to take place.

The two Muslim men, Gool Mohamed originally a Pashtun tribesman from Afghanistan and Mullah Abdullah from what is known today as Pakistan, decided to wage jihad against Australian infidels after Australia and the Ottoman Empire officially joined the opposite sides in the WWI.

Jihad Galore and the Toledo Whore

Battle of Higueruela

Alhambra - GazelleHow often in conversation with a Muslim, do they quote Spain as the crowning achievement of Islam, where Muslims, Jews and Christians lived in harmony for about 800 years?

And when you mention the killings and massacres, you are told that the Spanish Inquisition was much worse.
This is a misconception, since the Inquisition in Spain was responsible for only between 4,000 and 5,000 lives. [1]

Yet in 1066AD, in a single day, muslims murdered over 4,000 Jews because Vizier Joseph ibn Naghrela had risen to a position greater than them, and of course, this upset the Muslim sensitivities. [2]

History - Imperialism

Decisive Victory for the West

At this time of year, it is timely to remember one of the greatest victories of the west against the Islamic world. On the 7th October in 1571, Don Juan and the Holy League, led by Admiral Doria, defeated the larger Ottoman fleet in the Battle of Lepanto, saving Europe from the Turks and militant Islam. The Holy League was a coalition of different armies - of the Republic of Venice, the Papacy (under Pope Pius V), Spain (including Naples, Sicily and Sardinia), the Republic of Genoa, the Duchy of Savoy, the Knights Hospitaller and some others.

History - Stolen Heritage

Jerusalem - Coat of ArmsWhy do Muslims insist that Jerusalem is their Holy City?
When Mohamed and his faithful followers moved from Mecca to Medina, they found themselves among three Jewish tribes/clans (BANU-L-NADIR, BANU KAINUKA and BANU KURAIZA)  which settled there some time after their expulsion from their homeland and also living there were  two Arab, pagan tribes.

Mohammed, who at this stage needed more followers, decided to win those tribes over and convert them to his newly invented religion.

Islam was yet not as fully developed as we know it today, and Mohammed was still having his sessions with Allah (the Medina period revelations).
