Faux Interfaith with Faux Moderates

E-mail Print PDF
NazerAs a newcomer to Australia, I was hoping to escape the Islamisation of Europe and Londonistan.
Alas, I am dismayed to discover Islam has followed me to these golden shores.

A conference held this March in Queensland: “The Challenges and Opportunities of Islam in the West: The Case of Australia”, might have come straight from one of the infamous European Islamic conferences, with a welcome by Mr. Hassan Talal Nazer, Saudi Ambassador to Australia and New Zealand.

The Saudis recently convened an inter-faith conference in Madrid, organised by the Muslim World League. They couldn’t have it in Saudi Arabia, as only one religion is allowed there.
"To have a dialogue, just to start talking to each other, is an accomplishment in itself," said Saudi Ambassador to Spain, Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz al-Saud. (reference)
But can it be a true dialogue when the anti-Western Wahhabi interpretation of Islam is Saudi Arabia’s official religion?

The text of the interfaith conference is concerning, with participants affirming:
“The significance of religion and moral values and the need for humans to revert to their Creator in their fight against crime, corruption, drugs, and terrorism, and in preserving the institution of theMuslim World League family and protecting societies from deviant behaviors.”

Those who have studied Islam will realise the significance of  “reversion”. Islam regards Abraham, Moses, Jesus and Muhammad as prophets of Islam, and insists Jews and Christians must revert to their original faith of Islam and help establish sharia in the West.

Recommendations which raise alarm bells, include:

  • To reject theories that call for the clash of civilizations and cultures and to warn of the danger of campaigns seeking to deepen conflicts and destabilize peace and security.
  • To work on urging governmental and non-governmental organizations to issue a document that stipulates respect for religions and their symbols, the prohibition of their denigration and the repudiation of those who commit such acts. (source)
To me, this seems a clear warning against exposing or “defaming” Islam.

An article by Isi Leibler, “Don't confuse interfaith dialogue with groveling” summed up my feelings. Although he was addressing Jewish participants, his remarks are relevant for us Christians:

A global conference promoting interfaith dialogue sponsored by the current Saudi regime sounds somewhat like South African proponents of apartheid holding a global kumbaya extolling the virtues of racial equality. Regrettably, being hosted by King Abdullah had such an intoxicating impact on some Jewish participants that they lost their bearings and indulged in excessive praise of their host that degenerated into groveling.

Rabbi Michael Lerner…suggested that "for those of us who despair about Christianity and Judaism having gone astray... the notion that Islam might be the spark that generates a new religious revival based on mutual respect and spiritual intensity could dramatically expand our understanding of the endless potential for God to surprise us."

Saudi Arabia denies entry to Jews and prohibits all religions other than Islam the right to establish houses of worship. Saudi imams openly promote virulent anti-Semitism, depicting Jews as descendants of apes and pigs who should be killed. To this day, the Saudi educational system continues to incorporate obscenely anti-Semitic texts.
Saudi Interfaith
Interfaith Saudi Style

It is inexplicable why Jewish participants lacked the courage to raise crucial issues… like the obscene, state-sanctioned religious anti-Semitic incitement openly promoted by the country sponsoring the event. How could they remain silent when a Saudi deputy minister of culture stated that "Islam is a moderate culture and we are determined to prevent extremists from hijacking Islam"? Surely they had an obligation to point out that while all three major monotheistic religions incorporate elements of militant piety and violence, Islam, with its dominant jihadist branches, today represents the most violent doctrine. To remain silent enabled the Saudis to exploit interfaith dialogue as a vehicle to obtain respectability and cover up their extremism.

…dialogue with Muslims becomes counterproductive when they fail to present the Jewish case for fear of offending the other party or demean themselves by groveling to appease or curry favor with their hosts. All that is achieved is a façade of goodwill which ultimately only strengthens extremists at the expense of the few genuine moderates within the Islamic community. (source)
I believe this applies to all interfaith with Muslims, as they control the agenda and Christian and Jewish participants are too polite to challenge Islam’s theology.

At the Queensland conference, the keynote speaker was Prof Tariq Ramadan.

A recent book, Brother Tariq. The Doublespeak of Tariq Ramadan, by Caroline Fourest, reviewed by Bruce S. Thornton, reveals Ramadan’s agenda:
Tariq RamadanRamadan is a master of a carefully calibrated doublespeak that reassures Europeans even as he recruits foot soldiers for the long jihad against the West.

…Ramadan’s famous grandfather, Hassan al-Banna, was Egyptian founder of the Muslim Brotherhood, the primary inspiration for modern jihadists. (motto: “The Koran is our constitution. Struggle is our path. Death on the road that leads to God is our ultimate desire.”) Ramadan has never repudiated his grandfather’s ideas or his professed desire to see “the Islamic banner . . . wave supreme over the human race.” Indeed, he proclaims that “there is nothing in this heritage that I reject.”

He is constantly touted as a “reformer,” as though his intent is to change Islam so that it can coexist with secular liberal democracies... In fact every point advocated by liberal reformism — secularism, separation of church and state, democracy, reason as a guide for adapting Islam to modernity, and the abandonment of proselytizing — runs counter to  Salafist reform , which “will re-establish a Muslim world that is strong and triumphant — in short, a colonizing power.”

Ramadan explicitly endorsed Salafist reformism in an interview given on a Muslim radio station in 2003, but later, at a UNESCO symposium, he denied being a Salafist, a trick he pulled off byThe founder fraudulently redefining Salafism as “literalism.” This doublespeak, necessary for one who speaks simultaneously to Europeans and fellow Muslims, explains his call for a “moratorium” on stoning adulteresses rather than for its elimination, or his labeling of Iraqi and Palestinian terrorism as “resistance,” or his suggestion that Muslims had nothing to do with 9/11 at the same time he decried the attack.

Fourest’s analysis reveals that beneath his soothing rhetoric Ramadan is pursuing the jihadist program of global Islamization through propaganda and recruitment rather than through violence. The West will be won not by a cataclysmic violent takeover but by a more insidious process of “stages” or a “graduated conquest” pursued from within the West itself and exploiting its freedoms. This process includes a renewal of Islam through the dawah or “summons” to Islam, “while at the same time weakening the forces opposed to Islamism thanks to the contacts [Ramadan] has established with other religious leaders, with academia and, above all, with the anti-globalist, secular Left.

This makes sobering reading, but I believe, based on living in England, that this is the reality. We ignore it at our Waleed Alyperil.

Topics at the conference made depressingly familiar reading - Being Muslim in the West: The Normality of Living Under Non-Muslim Laws, Islamophobia and the Muslim “Other”, Embracing Islamic Investment in Australia using the Malaysian Model – Challenges and Opportunities,  Radicalisation and Global Muslim Identity Politics (this last by Mr Waleed Aly, lecturer in the Global Terrorism Research Centre, Monash University.) (reference)

These conferences, held at reputable universities, firmly establish Islam in our midst.
But surely Islam contravenes all the principles on which our universities are founded?
Why are we allowing Islam to be legitimised in this way?

I end with a plea to all readers: make yourself aware of what Islam’s plans are for the West.
Read all you can about Islam from authors like Robert Spencer, who tell the truth about Islam, often at great personal cost.

Don’t be fooled by Islamic assurances in the media or at interfaith sessions.

Islam left unchecked will destroy our freedoms.

History - Violent Jihad

Australians celebrate and revere Anzac Day on April 25th each year in remembrance of our brave soldiers who fought in two great world wars to secure our freedom. Every Australian identifies with the slogan “lest we forget” and in services held around the country people reflect on the battles and men who died to secure our freedom. Yet across the world in France, there is one remarkable battle which helped form the Europe we know today and allowed the development of civilization based on Judeo Christian principles. This one famous battle has become known as the battle of Tours and effectively stopped the Muslim advance into Europe. After the death of Mohammed in 632AD, Muslim armies exploded out of the Arabian peninsula to conquer much of the Middle East, expanding across north Africa. From there they crossed into Spain in 711AD and eventually controlled much of al-Andalus by 715AD. It was the victory at Tours by Charles Martel that stemmed the tide and eventually the Muslim marauders were expelled from Spain in 1492 when the last outpost at Granada fell to King Ferdinand of Spain.

Perhaps some readers might be interested to know that January 28 is considered a feast day among Catholics – actually 2 feast days are celebrated on the same day – one is of ST Thomas Aquinas, the great medieval theologian and philosopher who adapted Aristotle to the western Judeo-Christian worldview. . It is also the feast day of a lesser known person – St Peter Nolasco, the great ransomer of captives from the Muslims.

Barbary Corsair
Somalian Islamic Pirates & Lessons from History

The dramatic rescue of the American cargo-ship captain Richard Phillips from the hands of Somalian Islamic pirates by the U.S. Navy—killing three pirates, holding him hostage at gun-point, through precision-targeting—warrants a review of the U.S. struggle with piracy and hostage-taking in North Africa, which ended two centuries ago.

Raiding trade-caravans and hostage-taking for extracting ransom in Islam was started by Prophet Muhammad. Having become powerful and secure after his relocation to Medina from Mecca in 622, Muhammad initiated Jihad or holy war in the form of raids of trade-caravans for earning livelihood for his community. In the first successful raid of a Meccan caravan at Nakhla in December 623, his brigands killed one of the attendants, took two of them captive, and acquired the caravan as “sacred” booty. The captives were ransomed to generate further revenue. Muhammad, later on, expanded this mode of Jihad to raiding non-Muslim communities around Arabia—for capturing their homes, properties and livestock, capturing their women and children as slaves often for ransoming and selling, and imposing extortional taxes—which sometimes involved mass-slaughter of the attacked victims.

Battle of Broken Hill Logo

The First Islamic Terrorist Attack on Australian Soil

On January 1, 1915 two Broken Hill men, both former camel drivers, armed themselves with rifles, an homemade flag bearing Islamic insignia and a large supply of ammunition and launched a surprise attack on the Picnic Train about 3 kilometres outside Broken Hill.

The train carried about 1200 Broken Hill residents to Silverton where a picnic to celebrate the new year was to take place.

The two Muslim men, Gool Mohamed originally a Pashtun tribesman from Afghanistan and Mullah Abdullah from what is known today as Pakistan, decided to wage jihad against Australian infidels after Australia and the Ottoman Empire officially joined the opposite sides in the WWI.

Alhambra - GazelleHow often in conversation with a Muslim, do they quote Spain as the crowning achievement of Islam, where Muslims, Jews and Christians lived in harmony for about 800 years?

And when you mention the killings and massacres, you are told that the Spanish Inquisition was much worse.
This is a misconception, since the Inquisition in Spain was responsible for only between 4,000 and 5,000 lives. [1]

Yet in 1066AD, in a single day, muslims murdered over 4,000 Jews because Vizier Joseph ibn Naghrela had risen to a position greater than them, and of course, this upset the Muslim sensitivities. [2]

History - Imperialism

Decisive Victory for the West

At this time of year, it is timely to remember one of the greatest victories of the west against the Islamic world. On the 7th October in 1571, Don Juan and the Holy League, led by Admiral Doria, defeated the larger Ottoman fleet in the Battle of Lepanto, saving Europe from the Turks and militant Islam. The Holy League was a coalition of different armies - of the Republic of Venice, the Papacy (under Pope Pius V), Spain (including Naples, Sicily and Sardinia), the Republic of Genoa, the Duchy of Savoy, the Knights Hospitaller and some others.

History - Stolen Heritage

Jerusalem - Coat of ArmsWhy do Muslims insist that Jerusalem is their Holy City?
When Mohamed and his faithful followers moved from Mecca to Medina, they found themselves among three Jewish tribes/clans (BANU-L-NADIR, BANU KAINUKA and BANU KURAIZA)  which settled there some time after their expulsion from their homeland and also living there were  two Arab, pagan tribes.

Mohammed, who at this stage needed more followers, decided to win those tribes over and convert them to his newly invented religion.

Islam was yet not as fully developed as we know it today, and Mohammed was still having his sessions with Allah (the Medina period revelations).
