Laurie Ferguson knows his stuff

E-mail Print PDF
Laurie FergusonLaurie Ferguson, Federal Labor MP and Parliamentary Secretary for Multicultural Affairs and Settlement Services, has called one of our readers a bigot and rejected his genuine concerns as unsubstantial and ill informed.

In his own words:

I dare to think I am far more informed than yourself and believe in objective analysis not bigotry
So what is it all about you may ask? Well, it is about Tariq Ramadan and his recent visit to Australia and lecture given at the Griffith University in Queensland.  Ramadan is well known populariser of Islamism, and is based  in Switzerland. In his writings and speeches he reveals that his objectives are to facilitate the spread of Islam, to empower all Islamic ummahs around the non-Islamic world and to place Islam in a dominant position in as many places as possible.
We have covered this event in our previous articles: “Brisbane Terrorist Talkfest”, Laurie Ferguson asks ‘How High do I jump?”  and in Peter Singer’s  eyewitness report “What Muslims Want”. So let us turn the spotlight on the attitude of Laurie Ferguson, who  not only is a federal member of parliament but also holds a senior parliamentary position.

Since it was Laurie Ferguson, who warmly greeted Tariq Ramadan at the conference entitled ‘The Challenges and Opportunities of Islam in the West”  hosted by Griffith University  one of our readers felt obliged to inform Mr Ferguson that Mr Ramadan was not the moderate that the Australian Federal Government thought him to be.
Professional Ethnic
As the federal  member for Reid, Laurie Fergusson  is permanenly set within the Labor ranks as an expert on all ethnic things.

Here is the letter from our reader:

Sent: Thursday, 13 March 2008 2:58 PM
To: Ferguson, Laurie (MP)
Subject: Be aware of Europe

Dear Mr. Ferguson,

Recently in Brisbane a conference was held about the future of Islam  in Australia. You were present and welcomed the guest speaker Tariq  Ramadan, who has been banned from France and the USA.
Anna Bligh, Premier of Queensland, donated $50,000 to the cost of the conference.

A recent survey in Europe found that the majority of citizens felt that Islam was a threat to their way of life and culture. Islam is set on creating a new state called "Eurabia" with a culture and religion of Islam. If successful, it is good-bye to old Europe!

Why then does Australia, from the government to the press and TV (ABC) pander to this group of people who openly declare they want to take over our country and replace democracy with Sharia law? What ever happened to good old treason?

And here is the answer from Mr Ferguson:

The first point I would make is that unlike yourself I have actually had the advantage of hearing Mr Ramadan,  I HAVE HAD IT FROM  THE HORSES MOUTH NOT FROM DUBIOUS SOURCES WITH AXES TO GRIND. Mr Ramadans ban from the USA revolves around small donations he made to groups before they were listed as terrorist connected. The US position contrasts with the Howard and Rudd Governments decision to grant him entry and the attitude of European nations. Mr Ramadan has not advocated Sharia law and actually advocates that Muslims in the West adapt toAt Gallipolli Mosque those socities.

Let’s ignore the pugnacious tone of Mr Ferguson’s letter. As elected Member of Parliament, he doesn’t show any humility towards the people he is meant to serve and represent whatsoever. What strikes one here is the sheer arrogance in not addressing the points made in the letter and in dismissing valid arguments only because he, Laurie Fergusson heard the truth directly  “FROM THE HORSES MOUTH..”

Can you imagine an alcohol test based upon driver’s testimony alone?

-    Have you been drinking sir?

-    No!

-    Off you go then.
Also, please note that giving small donations to terrorist organizations is perfectly OK, especially when you hear this from the person who donated the money. After all, this is first hand information – the best thing whenever  national security is concerned.

And then Laurie does the unthinkable. He dares to utter the name of Labor’s bogeyman, our former Prime Minister John Howard (who served four successful terms).
Howard's End
I cannot resist and have to  add here that  Laurie Ferguson - in his spare time between fearlessly representing his electorate and applying himself to his copious activities as Parliamentary Secretary for Multicultural Affairs - peddles a certain vintage of plonk labelled  Howard’s End for his ….aghrr…I am sure not a relative  - Andrew Ferguson (I only hope they do have  booze peddling licence?).  (top, right corner)

Is Laurie saying here that Howard’s decision to consider allowing Ramadan into Australia was very wise  (as opposed to the decision of US Homeland Security to refuse him entry to the US) and therefore above all criticism? Howard would be surprised to receive such a compliment, as would we, that he had received it.

No Mr Ferguson, two wrongs do not make it right.

Howard was wrong in his judgement here and so are you. Every time you invite a “moderate” Muslim to get a hold of Muslim youth in Australia, in order to make them “less radical”, you get us one step closer to our own 9/11, on a much larger scale than Bali.

Without messiahs like Tariq Ramadan, these so-called Muslim youths would not know much about the Qur’an orSpreading Bovine Manure true Islam  but with this newly acquired knowledge, they will know that this is a Muslim land and we infidels must convert or die.
Tariq Ramadan is a very dangerous man, a deceiver, and he hates everything that comes from the West with a cold passion. Of course he does not come across this way, with his charm on tap, but some canny journalists are looking below the surface. And even former devotees of Tariq’s Trendy Islam can see that it ain’t all what it appears to be. Just because someone says ‘peace’ does not mean he means peace; just because someone says he is interested in dialogue, does not mean he really is.

This is what former “interfaith” partner Fr. Christian Delorme has to say about Tariq Ramadan:

I am today convinced--and it took me time to understand it--that Tariq Ramadan's thinking and actions are dangerous. I believe he is not at all a man of dialogue. He knows how to charm his audience, but in reality, he wants a total separation between Muslims and other communities. I am convinced that Tariq Ramadan deeply hates the West.  (source)

How long will it take the politicians down under to wake up?

Editor's Note:
Some reason why Mr Ramadan shoud not set his foot on Australian soil:

  • He has praised  Islamist policies of the Sudanese politician Hassan Al-Turabi. Mr. Turabi in turn called Mr. Ramadan the "future of Islam."
  • Mr. Ramadan was banned from entering France in 1996 on suspicion of having links with an Algerian Islamist who had recently initiated a terrorist campaign in Paris.
  • Ahmed Brahim, an Algerian indicted for Al-Qaeda activities, had "routine contacts" with Mr. Ramadan, according to a Spanish judge (Baltasar Garzón) in 1999.
  • Djamel Beghal, leader of a group accused of planning to attack the American embassy in Paris, stated in his 2001 trial that he had studied with Mr. Ramadan.
  • Along with nearly all Islamists, Mr. Ramadan has denied that there is "any certain proof" that Bin Laden was behind 9/11.
  • He publicly refers to the Islamist atrocities of 9/11, Bali, and Madrid as "interventions," minimizing them to the point of near-endorsement.
  • Intelligence agencies suspect that Mr. Ramadan (along with his brother Hani) coordinated a meeting at the Hôtel Penta in Geneva for Ayman al-Zawahiri, deputy head of Al-Qaeda, and Omar Abdel Rahman, the blind sheikh, now in a Minnesota prison.
  • Mr. Ramadan's address appears in a register of Al Taqwa Bank, an organization the State Department accuses of supporting Islamist terrorism

History - Violent Jihad

Australians celebrate and revere Anzac Day on April 25th each year in remembrance of our brave soldiers who fought in two great world wars to secure our freedom. Every Australian identifies with the slogan “lest we forget” and in services held around the country people reflect on the battles and men who died to secure our freedom. Yet across the world in France, there is one remarkable battle which helped form the Europe we know today and allowed the development of civilization based on Judeo Christian principles. This one famous battle has become known as the battle of Tours and effectively stopped the Muslim advance into Europe. After the death of Mohammed in 632AD, Muslim armies exploded out of the Arabian peninsula to conquer much of the Middle East, expanding across north Africa. From there they crossed into Spain in 711AD and eventually controlled much of al-Andalus by 715AD. It was the victory at Tours by Charles Martel that stemmed the tide and eventually the Muslim marauders were expelled from Spain in 1492 when the last outpost at Granada fell to King Ferdinand of Spain.

He was and continues to be an icon for the classes and masses alike and is seen as a rallying point for peasants oppressed by foreign rulers, Pathans and Moghuls alike. Sexually exploited women found in Shivaji Raje a protector, a benefactor and flocked to his Hindavi Swaraj to find solace and feel liberated under his saffron flag.

Perhaps some readers might be interested to know that January 28 is considered a feast day among Catholics – actually 2 feast days are celebrated on the same day – one is of ST Thomas Aquinas, the great medieval theologian and philosopher who adapted Aristotle to the western Judeo-Christian worldview. . It is also the feast day of a lesser known person – St Peter Nolasco, the great ransomer of captives from the Muslims.

Barbary Corsair
Somalian Islamic Pirates & Lessons from History
The dramatic rescue of the American cargo-ship captain Richard Phillips from the hands of Somalian Islamic pirates by the U.S. Navy—killing three pirates, holding him hostage at gun-point, through precision-targeting—warrants a review of the U.S. struggle with piracy and hostage-taking in North Africa, which ended two centuries ago.

Raiding trade-caravans and hostage-taking for extracting ransom in Islam was started by Prophet Muhammad. Having become powerful and secure after his relocation to Medina from Mecca in 622, Muhammad initiated Jihad or holy war in the form of raids of trade-caravans for earning livelihood for his community. In the first successful raid of a Meccan caravan at Nakhla in December 623, his brigands killed one of the attendants, took two of them captive, and acquired the caravan as “sacred” booty. The captives were ransomed to generate further revenue. Muhammad, later on, expanded this mode of Jihad to raiding non-Muslim communities around Arabia—for capturing their homes, properties and livestock, capturing their women and children as slaves often for ransoming and selling, and imposing extortional taxes—which sometimes involved mass-slaughter of the attacked victims.

Battle of Broken Hill Logo
The First Islamic Terrorist Attack on Australian Soil
On January 1, 1915 two Broken Hill men, both former camel drivers, armed themselves with rifles, an homemade flag bearing Islamic insignia and a large supply of ammunition and launched a surprise attack on the Picnic Train about 3 kilometres outside Broken Hill.

The train carried about 1200 Broken Hill residents to Silverton where a picnic to celebrate the new year was to take place.

The two Muslim men, Gool Mohamed originally a Pashtun tribesman from Afghanistan and Mullah Abdullah from what is known today as Pakistan, decided to wage jihad against Australian infidels after Australia and the Ottoman Empire officially joined the opposite sides in the WWI.

Battle of Higueruela

Alhambra - GazelleHow often in conversation with a Muslim, do they quote Spain as the crowning achievement of Islam, where Muslims, Jews and Christians lived in harmony for about 800 years?

And when you mention the killings and massacres, you are told that the Spanish Inquisition was much worse.
This is a misconception, since the Inquisition in Spain was responsible for only between 4,000 and 5,000 lives. [1]

Yet in 1066AD, in a single day, muslims murdered over 4,000 Jews because Vizier Joseph ibn Naghrela had risen to a position greater than them, and of course, this upset the Muslim sensitivities. [2]

History - Imperialism

Decisive Victory for the West

At this time of year, it is timely to remember one of the greatest victories of the west against the Islamic world. On the 7th October in 1571, Don Juan and the Holy League, led by Admiral Doria, defeated the larger Ottoman fleet in the Battle of Lepanto, saving Europe from the Turks and militant Islam. The Holy League was a coalition of different armies - of the Republic of Venice, the Papacy (under Pope Pius V), Spain (including Naples, Sicily and Sardinia), the Republic of Genoa, the Duchy of Savoy, the Knights Hospitaller and some others.

Jerusalem - Coat of ArmsWhy do Muslims insist that Jerusalem is their Holy City?
When Mohamed and his faithful followers moved from Mecca to Medina, they found themselves among three Jewish tribes/clans (BANU-L-NADIR, BANU KAINUKA and BANU KURAIZA)  which settled there some time after their expulsion from their homeland and also living there were  two Arab, pagan tribes.

Mohammed, who at this stage needed more followers, decided to win those tribes over and convert them to his newly invented religion.

Islam was yet not as fully developed as we know it today, and Mohammed was still having his sessions with Allah (the Medina period revelations).

In the post 9/11 era of this modern-world, Islamists around the globe are busy with ‘damage control utopia’ in order to correct the image of religion Islam.
