RMIT’S HUMAN RIGHTS CENTRE; PROMOTING WHOSE HUMAN RIGHTS?Di Sisel

Great news! RMIT has opened a new human rights centre, The Australian Centre for Human Rights Education, whose aim is “to alert people to the broad implications of human rights in their lives.”
The centre's head, Dr Di Sisely, formerly Victoria's equal opportunity commissioner, said:

"What we're keen to do is work to ensure people understand their rights in daily life in relation to the little things — whether it is about access to school, or whether it is about making sure you are not discriminated against when you go to the local shop..."

The centre will use the notion of "a fair go" to illustrate that the same values underlie human rights, and was necessary....

“because of the limitations of anti-discrimination legislation, which dealt only with individual cases rather than experiences of wider, systematic discrimination.”

Asked about concerns over new anti-terrorist legislation, Dr Sisely said:
"The recent federal election was, in part, an election around values in this country and I think people generally felt it was time to reassert the values that this country has traditionally stood for and it goes back to the notions of a fair go." (source)
In the spirit of this new centre, I support their notion of a fair go. I therefore respectfully request that they address the following issues.

  • At La Trobe University there are separate Muslim toilets and prayer rooms, an egregious example of the “wider, systematic discrimination” the centre is set up to address. Could they please give non-Muslims a fair go by ensuring there are similar separate facilities for each of the different religions represented on campus? Or else open the Muslim facilities to all students.
  • RMIT hosted a da’wa conference last year (see AIM Article:”RMIT’s dark interior”) led by Melbourne-based leaders of the Ahl Sunnah Wal Jammah association, Mohammed Omran, and Abdul Salam Mohammed Zoud. Both sheiks teach Wahhabism, a fundamentalist sect that inspired the former Taliban regime in Afghanistan and is preached by Osama bin Laden, leader of al-Qa’ida. Da’wa means conversion - into a nation living under militant Islam, which entails overturning our democratic system with its religious pluralism, rule of law and equal rights for all citzens.

La Trobe Muslim Only Loos

Shamefully, these Islamists were allowed to use RMIT premises to undermine our human rights. But thankfully, now that the the new centre is open, they will doubtless ensure Islamists will never again be able to spread their anti -human rights message on campus and that Islamist students’ societies and  RMIT mosques will be immediately closed.

Manual
In the name of Allah???? How do  the University  authorities greet non-Muslim students?

This will pave the way for the return to campus of speakers who uphold democracy and human rights for all – speakers like Robert Spencer, Wafa Sultan et al, who have hitherto been denied an audience.

  • RMIT have produced a handbook exclusively for Muslim students (see AIM article “RMIT Embraces Islam.”) in which they proclaim “RMIT has a strictly enforced zero tolerance policy in relation to discrimination.” I am confident the new centre will agree that RMIT are discriminating in favour of Muslims by providing Muslim prayer rooms and washing facilities and a separate Muslim handbook. In the interests of upholding human rights, they will no doubt insist RMIT also provide a Christian, Buddhist, Hindu and Jewish handbook, prayer rooms and washing facilities.

Sisley is keen that people understand their rights in daily life in relation to the little things. Here are some of the concerns that she might like to address:-

  • Nearly all the commercial yoghurts, as well as other foodstuffs in Safeway and Coles, contain halal gelatine, yet there is no label on the front alerting consumers to the fact that they are accepting sharia-compliant food.

In the interests of human rights, people need to be informed that they are inadvertanly buying such food. Hopefully the centre will take up this important issue.

  • Sharia-compliant finance is another area where Muslims are privileged, and where the centre could assist.

  • Dandenong High School allows hijabs, symbols of militant Islam, to be worn, but crucifixes must be concealed. It would be good if the centre could redress this discrimination.

Now let’s look more closely at Sisely’s contribution to human rights:
In the wake of 9/11, as Chief Executive of the EOC Victoria, she delivered the Forum report, Comabating Racism and Discrimination. She noted that then PM, John Howard, had said : “In times of challenge, Australians have always pulled together. Now it is time to pull together with free people and free societies around the world in response tothe global threat of terrorism… This is not a time for scapegoating groups within our society. Rather it is a time for united action against a common and abhorrent foe.”

Radical Islam in Action
So called World Conference Against Racism in Durban was hijacked by radical Islamists who turned it into an anti-Semitic, racist farce

Sisely’s response is revealing:-
“While this common foe in the immediate context is hate-filled terrorists, the underlying common and abhorrent foe is racism and racial and religious hatred. It is racial hatred that is fuelling terrorist actions and it is racism, born out of fear and prejudice, that is giving rise to attacks on Muslims and Arabic speaking Australians, especially women and girls, and on mosques, on schools and on community organisations.”
So it is our racism that is causing terrrorism - somehow I knew it would be all our fault! It is our racism, not the endless jihadi verses in the Koran, nor the imams preaching jihad in the mosques, which cause the terrorists to attack us. It’s all so clear now!

Sisely goes on to talk glowingly about the infamous Durban conference, seemingly oblivious of the fact that it was a racist, virulently anti-semitic hatefest. Or maybe anti-semitic racism doesn’t worry her.
“Ironically at the World Conference Against Racism in Durban, South Africa, 163 countries from all parts of the world adopted a Declaration and Programme of Action that condemned racism and committed to the implementation of a wide range of measures to combat racism at international, regional and national levels.Australia is one of those committed to this action. While much has been said about the World Conference Against Racism regarding long standing issues such as slavery, regional conflict and colonialism, what is not so well known is the very real commitments nations have given to introduce measures to prevent and reduce the devastating effects of racism within their own spheres of influence.” (source)
Sadly, with Di at the helm, the future of human rights education at RMIT looks set to take its usual trajectory. Pity really, as most Aussies believe they have human rights not to be blown up by terrorists.
But apparently not: Di seems to believe our racism is the problem, not Islamist terrorism, so there’s not much chance of democr
acy getting a fair go.

But at least militant Islam gets a fair go! That should help you sleep easy in your beds tonight!

History - Violent Jihad

Australians celebrate and revere Anzac Day on April 25th each year in remembrance of our brave soldiers who fought in two great world wars to secure our freedom. Every Australian identifies with the slogan “lest we forget” and in services held around the country people reflect on the battles and men who died to secure our freedom. Yet across the world in France, there is one remarkable battle which helped form the Europe we know today and allowed the development of civilization based on Judeo Christian principles. This one famous battle has become known as the battle of Tours and effectively stopped the Muslim advance into Europe. After the death of Mohammed in 632AD, Muslim armies exploded out of the Arabian peninsula to conquer much of the Middle East, expanding across north Africa. From there they crossed into Spain in 711AD and eventually controlled much of al-Andalus by 715AD. It was the victory at Tours by Charles Martel that stemmed the tide and eventually the Muslim marauders were expelled from Spain in 1492 when the last outpost at Granada fell to King Ferdinand of Spain.

History - Infidels' Resistance

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was born, lived, fought and won battles against religious and social oppression in the 17th century Bharat or India. He was a shining star in the Indian firmament and is renowned as a champion of the downtrodden and depressed masses. He was and continues to be an icon for the classes and masses alike and is seen as a rallying point for peasants oppressed by foreign rulers, Pathans and Moghuls alike. Sexually exploited women found in Shivaji Raje a protector, a benefactor and flocked to his Hindavi Swaraj to find solace and feel liberated under his saffron flag.

Perhaps some readers might be interested to know that January 28 is considered a feast day among Catholics – actually 2 feast days are celebrated on the same day – one is of ST Thomas Aquinas, the great medieval theologian and philosopher who adapted Aristotle to the western Judeo-Christian worldview. . It is also the feast day of a lesser known person – St Peter Nolasco, the great ransomer of captives from the Muslims.

Barbary Corsair
Somalian Islamic Pirates & Lessons from History

The dramatic rescue of the American cargo-ship captain Richard Phillips from the hands of Somalian Islamic pirates by the U.S. Navy—killing three pirates, holding him hostage at gun-point, through precision-targeting—warrants a review of the U.S. struggle with piracy and hostage-taking in North Africa, which ended two centuries ago.

Raiding trade-caravans and hostage-taking for extracting ransom in Islam was started by Prophet Muhammad. Having become powerful and secure after his relocation to Medina from Mecca in 622, Muhammad initiated Jihad or holy war in the form of raids of trade-caravans for earning livelihood for his community. In the first successful raid of a Meccan caravan at Nakhla in December 623, his brigands killed one of the attendants, took two of them captive, and acquired the caravan as “sacred” booty. The captives were ransomed to generate further revenue. Muhammad, later on, expanded this mode of Jihad to raiding non-Muslim communities around Arabia—for capturing their homes, properties and livestock, capturing their women and children as slaves often for ransoming and selling, and imposing extortional taxes—which sometimes involved mass-slaughter of the attacked victims.

Battle of Broken Hill Logo

The First Islamic Terrorist Attack on Australian Soil

On January 1, 1915 two Broken Hill men, both former camel drivers, armed themselves with rifles, an homemade flag bearing Islamic insignia and a large supply of ammunition and launched a surprise attack on the Picnic Train about 3 kilometres outside Broken Hill.

The train carried about 1200 Broken Hill residents to Silverton where a picnic to celebrate the new year was to take place.

The two Muslim men, Gool Mohamed originally a Pashtun tribesman from Afghanistan and Mullah Abdullah from what is known today as Pakistan, decided to wage jihad against Australian infidels after Australia and the Ottoman Empire officially joined the opposite sides in the WWI.

Jihad Galore and the Toledo Whore

Battle of Higueruela

Alhambra - GazelleHow often in conversation with a Muslim, do they quote Spain as the crowning achievement of Islam, where Muslims, Jews and Christians lived in harmony for about 800 years?

And when you mention the killings and massacres, you are told that the Spanish Inquisition was much worse.
This is a misconception, since the Inquisition in Spain was responsible for only between 4,000 and 5,000 lives. [1]

Yet in 1066AD, in a single day, muslims murdered over 4,000 Jews because Vizier Joseph ibn Naghrela had risen to a position greater than them, and of course, this upset the Muslim sensitivities. [2]

History - Imperialism

Decisive Victory for the West

At this time of year, it is timely to remember one of the greatest victories of the west against the Islamic world. On the 7th October in 1571, Don Juan and the Holy League, led by Admiral Doria, defeated the larger Ottoman fleet in the Battle of Lepanto, saving Europe from the Turks and militant Islam. The Holy League was a coalition of different armies - of the Republic of Venice, the Papacy (under Pope Pius V), Spain (including Naples, Sicily and Sardinia), the Republic of Genoa, the Duchy of Savoy, the Knights Hospitaller and some others.

Jerusalem - Coat of ArmsWhy do Muslims insist that Jerusalem is their Holy City?
When Mohamed and his faithful followers moved from Mecca to Medina, they found themselves among three Jewish tribes/clans (BANU-L-NADIR, BANU KAINUKA and BANU KURAIZA)  which settled there some time after their expulsion from their homeland and also living there were  two Arab, pagan tribes.

Mohammed, who at this stage needed more followers, decided to win those tribes over and convert them to his newly invented religion.

Islam was yet not as fully developed as we know it today, and Mohammed was still having his sessions with Allah (the Medina period revelations).
