I have a friend from Vietnam who came to Australia in the 1980s, having been traumatised by the Vietnam War. After surviving a life and death struggle as a boat person and years in
a refugee camp, she came to Australian. After being here a few months, she thought she was in paradise. She and her family felt welcomed by Australians, Greeks, Poles, Croats and others - and though there were hardships she adapted to and loved her new country. We all ate her spring roles and she ate pies, souvlaki and lamingtons. In the past ten years however, she has become increasingly distressed by what she perceived as the arrogant behaviour of the Muslims who moved into her area. To be fair , it was not true of all who moved into her street, but she found over time, that she was excluded from their world and being edged out of her suburb. In fact she did sell and move out to another part of the south west of Sydney and the same thing is happening again. I asked her what upset her about the Muslims in her area – and she speaks of noise, of rudeness and a lack of the sense of the ‘other’ , a sense of reciprocity, a give and take so common to the many ethnic groups who have lived along side each other in this country. In light of the above, the ABC Four Corner’s program on 10/3/08 was crude and biased in caricaturing the real opposition to Islam in Australia. It purported to speak of the growing resentment in the Australian Muslim community but almost totally to ignored the grass roots fears of ordinary Australians, of all backgrounds, with regard to Islam. ABC journalist Sally Neighbour’s report ‘Dangerous Ground’ presented the Muslim community as a besieged group, victimised by uncaring Australians. In discussing the opposition to the Camden Muslim school (which involves 7 hectares of land in a non-Muslim area) the only reference to community opposition was ’the pig’s head incident’- the action of a sole angry nutter, as if THAT represented the entire community and encapsulated the ‘opposition’ to the Camden school project. THIS WAS A GROSS DISTORTION OF THE TRUTH AND DISTORTION OF THE WELL-GROUNDED FEARS OF THE ORDINARY AUSTRALIANS WHO LODGED OVER THREE THOUSAND SUBMISSIONS TO CAMDEN COUNCIL. (Reference)
It was the ordinary Australians of Camden who were victimised and besieged. They continue to meet and discuss their opposition to the school but the ABC largely ignores them.
If the ABC wished to present a fair report - WHY WERE THERE NO INTERVIEWS WITH GROUPS OF CAMDEN RESIDENTS OPPOSED TO THE SCHOOL??
If the ABC wanted to really explore the reasons for fear of Muslims in the community WHY WERE PEOPLE OF MANY BACKGROUND, EXPRESSING SUCH FEARS, NOT INTERVIEWED?
If the ABC wanted to be fair, WHY WERE NO EX-MUSLIMS INTERVIEWED? Surely this would present another side of the picture. Ex-Muslims are victims too, often too frightened to speak out because of the threats of violence made from the Muslim community. Talk about victimised – the ABC has got the wrong guys- WHY NOT A FEW ASSYRIANS, ARMENIANS AND LEBANESE MARONITES AND MELCHITES? They are Australians too and while being REAL VICTIMS of Muslim aggression, do not spend their lives in this country bellowing about it. Like many victims of holocausts, they go about their lives with dignity and fairness.

And speaking of violence and threats – how about this comment from a young representative of the Muslim group interviewed in last night’s program.
"You’re going to see a generation of young people who have so much hatred and so much anger and so much frustration within them - and when that happens you’re on basically dangerous grounds," a prominent youth worker tells Four Corners. (source)
Can you see the threat and the set up here? As if one can miss it. Yes, it’s the west’s fault if there is Islamic violence and if you don’t do as we say, it will happen. In the schools where I have worked, we conducted anti-bullying programs to alert children to bullying tactics and the above comment is a perfect example of one. Threat and coercion laced together implying you are to blame for violence directed at you.
Muslims always feel maltreated and humiliated whenever they are not in a dominant position. Open aggression and violence comes with growing numbers of the faithful
Now why is it that in Australia - the Vietnamese, Chinese, Serbs, Italians, Greeks, Lao, Cambodians, Croats, Poles, Latvians, Jews and Czechs among others do not ‘bitterly complain of being treated like enemies in their own country’ as the Muslims do. Is it because, their priorities are different? They do their best to get an education, work – perhaps at menial jobs first – then climb up to something better – and put their efforts into work, achievement, family and community. Is it too perhaps because there has been no constant stream of Vietnamese (or other) suicide/homicide bombers blowing other people up – or in fact, not even one. Each community has its minority criminal element, as each society has, but NOT ONE COMMUNITY follows a holy book, which mandates jihad, a struggle of physical conquest on ALL its followers, as do Muslims. It sure is evident to anyone with eyes and ears and a TV, that jihad is not spiritual struggle (as was hastily put forward after 9/11).

The selectivity of the ABC Four Corners report is lamentable. And in fact encouraging such biased reporting may well in fact fuel the aggression in the Muslim community by giving it air time and more to feed on.
The way forward for the Muslim community is to befriend other communities, learn from migrants who have come here and accept questions regarding the Qu’ran and its plethora of violent passages and if possible, PUBLICLY REPUDIATE ALL VIOLENCE. If the reply of Muslims is that the US has invaded Iraq, then all I can ask is – would you really like Sadam Hussein, that mass murderer, back in power(see our Media Gallery). Most Iraqis greeted Americans as their liberators from a brutal regime. The only people ruining it now are the jihadis and suicide bombers.
Instead of a whingeing stream of self victimisation, Australians attitudes will change if you DO something for others that asserts some common humanity, realise that this is a pluralistic democratic society and that the concerns about Islam are real and grounded on evidence.

The problem here is one of Islamic teaching which clearly and irrevocably delineates attitudes towards believers and kaffir. Unfortunately, the only thing Muslims respect is power. As Winston said, they are at your throat or at your feet. There is no middle ground. Getting our Western heads around this reality is the single biggest step we need to take.

Unfortunately, as long as the rank and file Muslim looks to their Imams as having the last word instead of thinking for themselves there's not likely to be any change. Islam strongly discourages thinking for one's self. The radicals truly hate the infidel. This was brought home to me strongly a few years ago when we had a cell of Muslims living in the same block of flats as I was in. One day I came home from work to find them about to enter their unit and said hi, as is my usual wont. I didn't receive any reply except a look of pure hate with vitriol added by the truckload. Until then I had no idea that an actual look from someone could have an almost physical impact. That, and the US's 9/11 sent me on a quest to find out more about Islam, and boy have I had an education since. Islam as a religion is pure evil as far as I'm concerned. If we want to survive as a western society, I don't think we can live with them. Unless, as you say, they can learn to truly integrate into our society. The very nature of Islam precludes that though I believe.

Islam is the only religion on earth which specifically forbids its followers to become friendly with infidels.

Please understand that Laurie Ferguson, the Parliamentary Secretary for Immigration (including Multiculturalism) is preparing to establish a body to promote Islam in Australia and is currently deciding on who should sit on this. Obviously it will include many radical muslims who will have a government ear into policy. I have written to Ferguson today to warn him of the dangers, and that muslims should not get any special privileges.
To repeat John Howard " we did not invite them here, so let them exercise their rights and leave Australia if they dont like our laws".
Be aware that Ferguson when asked about the Visa to let Tariq Ramadan into our country answered glibly "it is just a storm in a teacup".
Please write to Ferguson about this.

Now, just imagine if some idiot dropped a cow's head on o proposed site for a Hindu temple.
What kind of reaction would we expect?
I am absolutely positive that nobody would've even learnt about the incident not to mention a public outcry.
Idiots and hooligans are everywhere and most of the rationally thinking people understand it.

After all for littering they could only fine the guilty person up to $200.00.

Thanks for your excellent report Wendy. I too was outraged by the ABC programme, as I suspect many rational Aussies would have been. The only honest programme ABC have put on recently is Jihad Sheilas, but they seem to think that is enough "balance".
The sole reason for Muslim discontent is that Australia is not yet Islamic. The only solution for them is to make Australia Islamic and all its citizens becoming slaves of allah.

Thanks for writing this article. I was so annoyed by that programme that I was planning to write a complaint, and you have now strengthened my resolve.
As you say, every other wave of immigrants has settled. Muslims are instructed by their imams not to integrate, that they are superior (the best of people) and that they must not be friends with infidels. Moreover, because they are superior, they are entitled to everything we dhimmis give them and we should be grateful to serve them in this way.
Sadly, unless the Muslims already here are prepared to scrap the Qur'an and all that goes with it (2nd class status for infidels/mysogeny/racism), they will never fit in. Instead, they want to change our beautiful country so that it becomes part of Islam.
The only solution is for the government to be strong enough to stop acceeding to their demands.Instead, Kev is falling over himself trying to do a makeover job, so the public don't see the Muslims here as too "religious" (aka violent psychopaths.)
I don't fancy his chances. It's not just cosmetic - Islam is ugly through and through.

The "Dangerous Grounds" story featured Fadi Rahman of ICRA as one if its main speakers on the topic of marginalisation and/or alienation of Muslim youth, and how the methods employed by enforcement agencies is likely to cause these youth to turn to acts of violence;

I watched this biased ABC tripe with a bucket and a box of tissues, you can guess what the bucket was for, as for the tissues it broke my heart to see those poor cry baby muslim's being picked on by those rotten Aussie racists....boo hoo.
This is pretty typical of the journalistic crap that is passed off as reporting these days.
All this program did was confirm my view that the ABC is biased, leftist and in league with Islam.
It's pretty simple really, Muslims have created their own Apartheid state within a state and now that Aussies are waking up before their plans come to fruition they blame everyone else and cry racist.
And how quickly dhimmi's like the ABC and SBS jump on the Aussie bashing bandwagon.
Why did this dhim witted ABC reporter not look into what caused the protest at Cronulla for example?..........because the ABC is biased and or lazy in its research. I suspect they are just plain biased.

After seeing some of the idiotic messages on the Four Corner message board I posted the following (please excuse the spelling/grammar as I was a bit pissed [off]!):
"Tonight's Four Corners was a joke.
Nobody was interviewed who could put forward an argument that has been circulating in this country for decades. That is, that muslims have been a distructive and pointless influence, with little in return.
All we got from the report was muslims complaining about "asio" and the "cops" and the "media".
And "rednecks". No analysis of immigration, crime, welfare/workers comp fraud - something every cop, journo and lawyer knows about, especially in Sydney.
No, what we get is muslims as "victims". Nothing from the true victims of their crimes.
So we get towards the end of the piece, the heartbreaking scene where young men (presumably no women allowed) close down the boxing gym (thats all we need young muslim men learning how to fight better), one of which was involved in the retalaliation attacks following Cronulla but could "not remember" what happened.
The journo did not press him on his lack of recall. I sure his victims wont forget.
So where were the voices for the those of us who believe otherwise? We get a few images of the Cronulla "riots" and a few Camden locals, one of which had the guts to speak to a large crowd on camera but was not interviewed, nor was anyone else who disagreed with the main thrust of the program: its all our fault.

Thanks for pointing this out Cass. People tend to forget that Islam in Australia is a continuum. These "events" don't happen in a vacuum. They are related.
It is NOT paranoia, foolishness or idle specualtion to point out that there is an agenda, a plan, a project, for the Islamisation of Australia.
The difficulty in presenting evidences for this are simple....
In the main, the opponents of Islam are amatuers. WE do not have the resources of an ABC or an SBS, let alone a Government bureaucracy.
However, anecdotal evidence and the evidence of the public record has presented a surfeit of information from which deductions can be made.
Islam "is not here to be equal", to quote an American Islamist, Ibrahim Hooper, of CAIR, but to further the expansion of the Ummah and that means delivering Australia into Islamic control.
The simple fact that an ethnic minority of some 2% of the population warrants.... and gets.... such incredible attention is informative in itself.
The fact that out politicians are willing to pander to Islam, and cave in to their demands at the drop of a hat, indicates that Islam is playing with a larger stick than they want the majority to see.
Petro-dollars, import/export markets, middle-east banking, the buy-out of Australian stocks and shares, the rorting of our Social Security system, the manipulation of our Immigration system, the abuse of Refugee status ....... evidence is everywhere and it makes for a disturbing "bigger picture". Just join the dots folks.

The bottom line is that Islam is evil. Islam is the only religion that I know about that teaches hatred and satanic evil. Islam gravitates toward evil. Where do you see the word "love" in the Qur'an? When is it the last time that you saw an Imam smile? One writer above mentioned several ethnic peoples and wondered why they were unlike the Muslims. They were different because none of the peoples of different backgrounds were taught satanic hatred. Only Muslims are taught diabolical hatred. That's why eeeeeevil Muslims are different. I thank the few good Muslims who are good, and who are trying to better their lives. I thank them for their friendship.

It is true that Arabs/Muslims in south-west Sydney are loud. It is common to hear fireworks and car horns. And around Christmas and New Year the firework booms are unrelenting. It's the same juvenille bravado supremist militant, dare I say Islamic, sensibilities that express joy by firing guns in the air. Devoid of sensitivity. Devoid of empathy. Devoid of humanity. A culture that has never grown up.

What is happening in Australia has been happening in Yugoslavia for decades. The most recent manifestation of the long sordid story is the muslim theft of Kosovo.
It is not a new practice. I will take this oportunity to highlight one particular incident. This is a news clip describing it

After the second world war, Tito decided to give muslims their own republic (big mistake). The government of that republic gave the killers

Now think about it. What did that mean for Serbians who were living in Bosnia under that government?

History has shown that whenever a bully is killed, they cease to be a bully. At this point the only hope is to wipe out Islam by drafting anti cult laws in the West and declaring the Koran as hate speech. Sure they will howl, but it will keep them out. Let them kill each other on their own land.

Islam's highest goal is to spread Islam until the whole world accepts Allah. Anything is permissible to Muslims if it furthers this goal. (Lie, cheat, steal, kill -- really.) Islam is considered to be the perfect way of life. Mohammed is considered the perfect man, worthy of emulation in all respects. (Marrying a 6-year old? Having a poetess slain because she mocked him?) But it's there in the Quran, which Muslims believe to be the literal, eternal, perfect word of God. (No changes or reinterpretations possible to God's directives, sorry.) It's just an amusing coincidence that (when some of the his new converts noticed that Mohammed seemingly couldn't keep track of his revelations from On High) Allah revealed that "Sometimes I think of something better so I replace what I said before with the new, better verses." (I would have figured that an eternal all-knowing God would get it right the first time, but... guess not.)
At any rate, to Muslims, Islam is "el primo", "number one", "the best", "the only way". To not agree with that assessment is to disrespect Islam. To criticize or mock Islam, or to question anything about its beliefs or practices, is an insult to Allah, because Islam is not just a pray-5-times-a-day religion, it's an entire social-political-religious system of "submission to the will of Allah." To do or say or think anything critical of Islam or Mohammed or the perfect Quran is an absolute affront to Allah and his perfect plan for mankind: it's blasphemy, apostasy, heresy; you deserve to die and burn in hell forever for such a thing. And remember, Allah is Compassionate and Merciful. (The perfect book keeps saying that after it recounts the various horrors of hell awaiting those who are insufficient in their beliefs.)
The upshot is, if you don't immediately succumb to Islam you are insulting Allah. If you don't respect Muslims and their special needs you are insulting Allah. If you hurt their religious sensibilities you are insulting Allah. If you don't make it easy for them to observe all their customs and rituals you are insulting Allah. If you reprint "those cartoons"; if you mention "Islam" and "violence" in the same sentence; if you don't agree that women should be covered and chaperoned; if you think women should be equal and educated and independent; if you think stoning-to-death or lashing or amputation of hands and feet is barbaric; if you think your man-made Australian laws should be followed instead of Sharia; if you do anything that even slightly hints that you do not totally respect Islam and/or Muslim customs and beliefs and habits, you are by definition offending Allah the Almighty.
Under such a rigid belief system, only one side --ours-- is expected to accommodate, change, yield. Islam cannot adapt to "the other". To change would invalidate Islam's core belief, which is its own perfection and its ultimate universality. Islam will consume "the other" (= us) if it can; or Islam will pause, waiting for a more propitious time to advance. But Islam's ultimate goal is and will always be to make the world Islamic. Islam cannot coexist with any other social system. That's just the way it is.

Perhaps some readers might be interested to know that January 28 is considered a feast day among Catholics – actually 2 feast days are celebrated on the same day – one is of ST Thomas Aquinas, the great medieval theologian and philosopher who adapted Aristotle to the western Judeo-Christian worldview. . It is also the feast day of a lesser known person – St Peter Nolasco, the great ransomer of captives from the Muslims.
How often in conversation with a Muslim, do they quote Spain as the crowning achievement of Islam, where Muslims, Jews and Christians lived in harmony for about 800 years?

Islam is currently passing through one of its most dynamic times since its rise fourteen hundreds years ago. This dynamic period started long before 9/11 as a fierce struggle, mainly against the west, but also against any nation or group that dares to stand in its way. Most Muslims take this resurgence phase very seriously and consider it as a decisive battle between Islam and the non-Islam, or the kufr, which Mohammed told them they would win. Even though the west, currently, is largely in denial about this makes no difference to the significance of this conflict to the whole world. 
There is a very strongly entrenched view among majority of Westerners today that the three main monotheistic religions Judaism, Christianity and Islam share one common God and therefore despite the obvious differences, the core foundation of these three religions is the same.
