Should we ban Islam?

E-mail Print PDF
In a democratic country, ideally nothing should be banned, and all ideas should be exposPersecution of Coptsed to the oxygen. Then the most pernicious ones will  be quickly rejected and only those that accord with community standards will be accepted in the marketplace of ideas. At any rate, that’s the theory.

However, history has taught us that some ideologies are so toxic, that they must never be allowed to take root in the first place; in order to maintain civil liberties and human rights, they must be proscribed. Hence Germany, which has learned the lesson of allowing Nazism to flourish with the unimaginably evil consequences to humanity, now bans hate speech and holocaust denial. Most democratic countries, mindful of the need to protect its citizens, criminalise incitement to racial hatred and other discriminatory behaviour.

For the last few decades we have witnessed the steady incursion of an ideology – Islam - which has insinuated itself into free Western societies. Because we in the West pride ourselves on our tolerance, we have accorded Islam access to our marketplace of ideas as an equal partner. Seemingly unaware of its barbaric totalitarian nature, we have insisted that it takes its place amongst two monotheistic religions as part of a triumvirate which shares a common forefather – Abraham.

Dead Copt
Copts in Egypt (the true, indigenous people of this land) are murdered, kidnapped and forced to convert because Muslims invaders follow the teachings of Muhammad.

Alas, in our desire to be open and accepting, we have allowed ourselves to be deceived. Islam is not another of the great monotheistic religions that can coexist happily with others. It is not here to coexist, but to supplant. It is not here to add to the marketplace of ideas, but to crush all opposition.

Germany recently urged a ban on the Church of Scientology, on the grounds that it contravenes the constitution and poses a danger to democratic order.
"Scientology works on the basis of massive repression, like a totalitarian organisation which wants to break the will of the people, which is precisely why we have to fight it," Ralf Stegner, the Interior Minister of Schleswig-Holstein, said.

Islam also works on the basis of massive repression, is a totalitarian organisation which wants to break the will of the people, and reduce them to slavery. If ever anything poses a danger to democratic order, it is Islam!

Scientology’s leaders say it is a religion, but officials insist it is a totalitarian commercial sect that seeks to crush individuality. (Reference)

Islam’s leaders also say it is a religion, but the reality is that it is a totalitarian sect that seeks to crush individuality.
Even worse, it seeks to make people submit by threats and violence and spreads terror throughout the world. Compared with Islam, Scientology is a harmless belief system, albeit exploitative of its adherents.

So why ban Scientology when Islam is much more dangerous?

Persecuted Hindu in Bangladesh
In Pakistan, 2.6 million Hindus that still live there are being treated by Muslims with growing contempt.

How many terrorist acts have been carried out by Scientologists?
How many murders have been committed in the name of Scientology?
Is Scientology insisting that its belief system be spread into schools and on campus? Is it threatening those who ridicule it, or try to leave, with death? Does it promote violence against women and homosexuals, endorse polygamy and fgm?

Scientology poses no threat to world peace or to outsiders.
Islam, on the other hand, aims to replace democracy with a global totalitarian caliphate and kill all who refuse to submit.

Islam is the real danger. If any ideology should be banned, it is Islam!

Islam so far has been given a bright green light despite its obvious incompatibility with our laws, values and ideas.
We've reached a point now where our inaction we'll cost us all our rights, freedom and lifestyle.

Until Islam goes through a complete reformation process, yes, Islam should be banned in the West. But that is not going to happen is it. The next best thing is to bring a complete halt to muslim immigration into our countries. As it stands muslims are told by their clerics to have as many children as they can to bolster their numbers over time. We have literally allowed a trojan horse to enter under the so called 'multi-cultural' program. In the not to distant future our kids are going to have to deal with the members of this 'religion' in the form of vicious riots. Cronulla was just a picnic compared what is in store for us down the track. They use intimidation, threats and violence to get their way. Their new target is to be found in the people of Camden. Let's make no mistake, it was no coincidence that their spokeman made pointed references to text messages & possible riots. It's a veiled threat. If you don't give us what we want we will make trouble for you. The people of Camden need help....how do we give it to them without breaking the law?

I would like to clarify a statement in my article. I said that scientology was exploitative of its adherents. To be honest, I have no knowledge of this, and have only anecdotal evidence that this is so.

I have certainly never read claims that it wants to kill non-scientologists or poses a worldwide threat. The point I was making about scientology was that it is no danger to others and I see no reason why it should be banned.

Islam, on the other hand, is a completely different matter. It is a genocidal death cult that threatens to destroy all other cultures.

Dude, Lynette,

Islam has indeed been given a green light and I can't see it being banned, as any suggestion to do so would be met with threats and actual violence, just to reinforce the message that Islam is the religion of peace.

"The next best thing is to bring a complete halt to muslim immigration into our countries. As it stands muslims are told by their clerics to have as many children as they can to bolster their numbers over time"

Yes, Lynette, banning would be a good first step, followed by de-privileging. But I can't see this happening either.

Muslims always make veiled threats whenever any infidel dares to question their projected takeover. Their useful idiot enablers aka traitors back them up and the government goes along with it.

This is the dilemma. How to help the people of Camden when we have threats and laws which prohibit us from "vilifying" Islam.

I would say that under the circumstances banning at least some of the Islamic practices is absolutely necessary.
Halal, backyard killing of animals must absolutely stop, practicing FGM must attract much more attention of our authorities and the "cultural-regional" sensitivity crap must stop immediately.
Our government mu ban sharia and make any attempts introduce it into this country illegal.

Swallow,

I agree we should ban sharia. But sharia is being introduced by stealth: if you go into Coles or Safeway, you'll notice all the commercial yoghurts contain halal gelatine. Most people would be unaware of this, and when you draw attention to it, most would say "so what!" But by eating this yoghurt we are having sharia law imposed upon us.

Similarly sharia finance is coming in under our noses, and few even question the wisdom of allowing it. Sharia has insinuated itself into our schools with groups like the JCMA, and university depts, mostly funded by rich Arab countries, are propogating sharia.

All this while we were sleeping...

Cassandra,
To ban relatively harmless Scientology while allowing Islam to spread in Germany seems like a very strange policy.
Unless of course they need to start somewhere and Scientology just happens to be the first in line.

Does the west care about being firm about anything anymore? Or will we drown in a vat of cappuccino froth type tolerance? In actual fact, we, on this blog accord more respect to Muslims than the latte set because we actually treat of the ideas in Islam seriously, as the latte set never do. If you want to respect people, at least listen to what they say and what their beliefs are. This we do. On this blog there has always been reference to the Qu'ran, to the basic ideas of Islam, analysis, discussion and contrast. There is a distinction being respecting a person as a person, and drawing a line where ideas are concerned. We are sorry that Muslim men and women have been chained by a totalitarian, merciless and irrational ideology. May God help you to escape from it.

The ideas of Islam are extremely harmful to any democracy and to Muslims too, as evidenced by all the conflicts in Islamic societies around the world and the sad litany of deaths caused by Islam, the ongoing maltreatment of women and the inability to ask serious questions of government in Islamic societies.

Once again I urge any readers out there who wish to follow this up - buy Andrew Bostom's 'The Legacy of Jihad' and see the evidence of the tragic consequences of Islam in the past and what it portends for all societies in the future.

Rosie,
It does seem a very strange policy UNLESS the government are mindful of the fact that banning scientology will not result in widespread threats, violence and bloodshed on the streets of Germany, whereas banning Islam will!

Wendy,

Your're absolutely correct. We give Islam respect by listening to what it says and teaches. The latte set just ignore what it says, and put their own interpretation on Islam, which is completely at variance with the theology.

'There is a distinction being respecting a person as a person, and drawing a line where ideas are concerned. We are sorry that Muslim men and women have been chained by a totalitarian, merciless and irrational ideology. May God help you to escape from it.'

Yes, we at AIM are the truly compassionate ones, as we want to help Muslims escape. Those who are engaging in "interfaith" are ensuring Muslims remain in thrall to the ideology of Islam.

If these people were truly sincere about wanting a dialogue with Muslims, they would seek out and support those Muslims who are too terrified to speak out for fear of violence retribution towards those who deviate from the Islamist rhetoric.

As it is, those opportunistic (mostly Christians and Jews) are perpetuating slavery, racism, oppression of women and all the other evils of Islam, all the while claiming the moral high ground.

As an atheist, I regard all religions as simply ideologies....but they certainly aren't the same! Islam is the most evil ideology I have ever studied! In a free society it is essential to have the right to openly disguss, and criticise all ideologies without fear of violence or prison....when we are nolonger free to do this, we are nolonger able to fight to protect our children and their future from vile, repressive ideologies like Islam.

People will eventually not stand back and see their children's freedom and future destroyed so gagging debate on Islam is a recipe for civil unrest and perhaps civil war between those who side with repressive and totalitarian Islam and those who stand for western freedom etc.

I hope Australians have more guts than the pathetic europeans eg French where the vile Islamic enclaves (no-go areas for others like Lakemba here) spread and the French just walk about with their noses in the air and pretend it's not happening....capitulation to something far worse than Naziism this time! I believe true Auzzies are made of sterner stuff!

Wendy, well said. The "defenders" of miscreant's civil liberties and etc - the lefties, in other words - are big on rhetoric, small on reality.

As a man married across racial and cultural "barriers" I think I have some insight into the realities of cultural acceptance..... and the patronisation that often passes for "acceptance", here in the West.
There's nothing "accepting" about keeping people in anthropological zoos for the entertainment of rich, patronising, condescending Western elitists, and that is what a hell of a lot of "tolerance" actually amounts to.
Bloody zoo-keepers; Disneyland tourists lamenting of 'a vanishing world', who never ask themselves if some things should be allowed to pass into the annals of history, because they were iniquitous and debasing.

I once found myself in heated confrontation with some NGO do-gooders in Nth Thailand who were urging the continuance of a "cultural practice" that, while cute and iconic, actually disadvantaged the tribespeople.
You may know of the "Long Neck" women of Nth Thailand?
Some want to take off the rings. Those are the girls who've had an education and don't like to live in poverty, waiting for yet another bus-load of tourists to come and pay $2 for a photo of them. How unreasonable!
Some people don't want them to. Those are the Westerners. They don't care what the girls have to say.
I could go on, but I think you get the point.
The "zoo" is NOT a nice place to be forced to live.
The Zoo is maintained by people who do not listen.
Not listening is racism.
Western elitists are the real racists.
Not listening to Islam is racist.

It is also a folly of the highest order, as some of what we have come to know of Islam, in the past decade (say) contains words and phrases such as,
"kill the infidel"

Astonishingly,we have actually seen some evidence of Muslims doing so! And not backing down from threats to do so, AGAIN .. and again, and again.

(My GOD, these people really take the Koran seriously.... and literally???? Say it ain't so!)

Write newspaper column after column, assuring us we have misunderstood them. Tell us what we want to hear..."Islam is a religion of Peace". (Oh, I feel so much better now.)

I think we all need to hear what islam has to say!!!
It's quite enlightening. Scarey, frightening, hateful, malicious... but enlightening!

"Should we ban Islam?"

Yes. Yes. A thousand times, yes! But - how?

Politicians are too spineless to take any action. Besides, they appease mohammedans to garner their votes at elections. They sell-out their countries for votes. Look to the UK as a prime example. And the rest of Europe.

For Germany to ban the Church of Scientology is a far easier option than tackling the 'real' danger - Islam. The same as Rudd - castigating the Exclusive Brethren prior to the election. A much softer option than criticising Islam. Gives the impression (to dimwits) that they, the politicians, are actually DOING something. Saving the populations from the tyranny of the Scientologists and the Brethren.

Politicians - cowards and traitors, all!

Circe,
'In a free society it is essential to have the right to openly discuss, and criticise all ideologies without fear of violence or prison....when we are nolonger free to do this, we are nolonger able to fight to protect our children from vile, repressive ideologies like Islam.'

Sadly, we are going along that path, with interfaith fraud infiltrating police, government, media, schools, unis etc, and vilification laws preventing open discussion of Islam.

I think you're right though that Aussies are made of sterner stuff and have had just about enough.

Blue Heeler,
Yes, it is patronising for the Western elites to tell us what the "real" Islam is. We know exactly what the real Islam is, as we have studied it extensively, have ex-Muslims who explain it and actually listen to what Islamists are saying.

I've spoken to several (very arrogant) interfaith devotees and asked them about Islam. What forcefully stuck me was that they knew nothing about Islam - hadn't heard the expressions taqiya, dhimmitude, abrogation etc (they're not mentioned in the bridge-building sessions.) Bridge building = building bridges over which Islam can march in order to destroy Judaism and Christianity.
And they are doing a brilliant job!

Red Rose,

This is our problem: weak, spineless governments. I think any action will come from the grass roots movements, which will become more and more insistent, so that eventually the government will have to act.
